LUDWIGSHAFEN

The City of Ludwigshafen is known for its chemical production world-wide. In 1999, SCHMIDT opened another logistics center in the immediate vicinity of the local production plants. Silos are available for bulk storage. A year later, a tank cleaning facility with state-of-the-art rinsing equipment went into operation. A large repair and maintenance shop provides services to SCHMIDT-owned and subcontractor vehicles.

OPTIMUM PREREQUISITES FOR HANDLING IMPORT AND EXPORT

In the meantime an additional container terminal (160 TEU) with tilting platform and railway siding was built on the premises of the Ludwigshafen subsidiary. Thus, the infrastructure of this location provides optimum prerequisites for handling import and export business. In addition, special block-train concepts are being designed and provided.
